Patron Fiestas of Our Lady of Los Remedios
The town's main patron-saint celebration, centred on 26 October, fills the old streets with religious processions, folk and live music, plus cultural and sporting activities for all ages. The full multi-day programme is usually published closer to the date.
Buenavista del Norte sits right out in the quiet northwest corner of Tenerife, and once a year the whole town turns out for its patron saint. The heart of it falls around 26 October, when the image of Our Lady is carried through the old streets behind a procession, with brass bands and local folk groups playing along the way. Expect timple music, open-air dances that run late, and the usual run of cultural and sporting fixtures squeezed into the days either side.
It's a proper village affair rather than a tourist set-piece, so the warmth comes from sharing it with people who've done this their whole lives. The detailed programme tends to land closer to the date on the town hall site, but if you're in the area each October, it's well worth the drive out. Everything's free.
