What's on in Águilas

Águilas sits right at the southern tip of Murcia's Costa Cálida, where the region runs out into Almería, a working fishing town and small resort built around two bays and watched over by a castle on the headland. It has a real Spanish-holiday feel rather than an international one, with palm-lined seafronts, a busy little harbour and a string of quiet coves stretching down a still largely undeveloped coast. The town is best known for its carnival, one of the wildest in Spain.
