What's on in Ciutadella de Menorca

Ciutadella is Menorca's old capital and its most handsome town — a sandstone old quarter of palaces, churches and arcaded streets around the Plaça des Born, ending at a narrow harbour cut into the rock. It's quieter and grander than Maó across the island, and the obvious base for the wild western beaches.

The town is famous for its Sant Joan festival, when horses rear through crowds in the old streets, and the calendar here keeps that traditional thread — folk dances in the neighbourhoods, festive ensaïmada baking, live music at Plaça des Born and stargazing nights. Here's what's on while you're here.
