What's on in Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar is the big, brash resort of the southern Costa Brava, known for its long beach, its nightlife and its summer crowds. But there's an older Lloret too: the town grew rich in the 19th century on returning emigrants — the indianos — who came back from the Americas and built grand houses and the lovely Santa Clotilde Gardens on the cliffs, where concerts are held in the amphitheatre.

That quieter side is worth seeking out. The Indiano heritage walk and Can Font house-museum tour tell the town's story, the cobla orchestra plays sardanes through summer in a long-running tradition, and there's free daily beach Zumba at Lloret and Fenals. Here's what's on while you're here.
