What's on in Mijas

Mijas is really two places: Mijas Pueblo, a steep white village set high on the mountainside with sweeping views over the Costa del Sol, and Mijas Costa, the beachside sprawl of La Cala and the resorts below. The old village, with its famous donkey-taxis and clifftop chapel, keeps a postcard-Andalusian feel, while the coast does the beach holidays.

Down at the shore, the Día del Carmen brings a seafaring procession to La Cala de Mijas in July, when the fishermen's patron is carried out over the water, and Vive Mijas de Noche fills summer evenings with a craft market and live music. Here's what's on while you're here.
