What's on in Mutxamel

Mutxamel sits just inland from Alicante and San Juan beach, an old huerta town built around the river Montnegre and its historic irrigation works. It's a real Alicantine town rather than a coastal resort, close to the city but with a slower, traditional feel and plenty of greenery from the surrounding market gardens.

Its events mix the local and the live. The Valencian pilota street finals bring the region's traditional handball game to the town, the Nits al Parc summer season puts on concerts — including Spanish rock band Revolver — and the exhibition "Mutxamel Through Lines" by Avshion adds an art note.
