What's on in Palamós
Palamós is a working fishing port on the Costa Brava, and proud of it — its deep-water prawns are famous across Catalonia, and the daily auction still lands the catch on the quay each afternoon. Around the harbour there's a relaxed town with good beaches, a fishing museum and far less gloss than the big resorts further south.
The catch is the headline event too: the Fira de la Gamba celebrates the local prawn, and you can join a guided visit to the fish auction. Summer also brings free open-air rumba concerts and the town's own Festa Major. Here's what's on while you're here.
