What's on in Palma
Palma is Mallorca's capital and one of the Mediterranean's great city ports — a working Spanish city wrapped around a vast Gothic cathedral that rises straight off the harbour front, with a maze of old-town lanes, courtyards and tapas bars behind it. It's a proper year-round place rather than a resort, with the airport and most of the island's ferries on its doorstep.
The harbour fills with sails for the Copa del Rey MAPFRE regatta, one of the Med's biggest sailing events, while the Nit de Sant Joan turns midsummer into a night of bonfires, music and crowds along the seafront. Here's what's on while you're here.
