What's on in Punta Umbría
Punta Umbría sits on a sandy spit between the Atlantic and the marshes of the Odiel, on Huelva's Costa de la Luz. It grew up as a fishing town and a summer escape for the people of Huelva city across the estuary, and it still has that unpretentious, Spanish-holiday feel — long beaches, pine woods and a working harbour rather than a foreign-resort gloss.
The summer here turns on the sea. The Virgen del Carmen celebrations carry the fishermen's patron out across the water in a boat procession, while the Festival Punta de Luna brings live music to warm nights, and Open Summer fills the season with activities. Here's what's on while you're here.
