What's on in Sant Joan d'Alacant/San Juan de Alicante

Sant Joan d'Alacant is a town just inland from Alicante's beaches, surrounded by the almond and olive groves of the Huerta. Once a scattering of country estates where Alicante's wealthier families summered, it has grown into a comfortable residential town that runs straight into the city, but keeps an old centre and a strong sense of its own traditions.

Those traditions come out at the Major Festivals of the Holy Christ of Peace and at the Hogueras de Sant Joan, the bonfire festival shared with Alicante, complete with a Fire Parade through the streets.
