What's on in Tarifa

Tarifa is the southernmost town in mainland Europe, the point where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and Africa sits just across the strait, often clearly in view. The relentless wind that put off the package crowd made it Spain's kitesurfing and windsurfing capital, and the old Moorish walled town behind the port has a laid-back, surf-meets-Andalusia feel all its own, with miles of wild dune beach to the north-west.

In summer the Real Feria of Tarifa honours the Virgen de la Luz with several days of fiesta, while the nearby Bolonia Village Fair brings a smaller, rural celebration to the hamlet beside its Roman ruins. Here's what's on while you're here.
