What's on in Tuineje

Tuineje is a quiet municipality in the dry, open south of Fuerteventura, taking in the inland village of Tuineje itself and the small coastal resort of Tarajalejo on the south coast. The landscape is bare and volcanic, all wide skies and goat country, with a couple of low-key beaches where the package crowd thins out.

At Tarajalejo the seafront comes alive for the Fiestas of the Sacred Heart of Mary, and the same stretch hosts the Tarajalejo Urban Mile, a popular run along the front. Here's what's on while you're here.
