Classics at 9 - Open-Air Classical Concert Series
Five consecutive nights of free classical music concerts at the Rafael Doménech auditorium, closing on July 3 with a clarinet competition final. A relaxed, no-language-barrier evening of live music.
The clue is in the name: doors open and the music starts at 9pm, once the day's heat has eased and Benidorm slows down a touch. For five nights running, the Rafael Doménech auditorium on Calle de Jaén hosts free classical concerts, part of the town's summer cultural run. You don't need a word of Spanish to follow along, which makes it an easy evening if you fancy something gentler than the seafront bars.
It builds to a finale on 3 July, when a clarinet competition reaches its final round and the players compete for the prize in front of an audience. Admission costs nothing, so it's worth wandering in even if classical music isn't usually your thing. Turn up in good time if you want a seat, and treat it as a calm way to round off a warm evening.
