Finestrat has two halves: the white village up under the Puig Campana, and La Cala de Finestrat down on the coast next to Benidorm. The Cala keeps its own fiestas in September, a deliberately outward-looking weekend that the council describes as being for residents and for the visitors still on the beach at that point in the season.
What to expect. Three days from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September. The full programme is published by the fiestas department closer to the date, but it reliably includes the Carrera Solidaria, a charity run in aid of Cáritas Parroquial Finestrat, alongside the usual mix of music, food and family events. Mid-September on the Costa Blanca is still properly warm and the beaches have emptied out.
Practical bit. La Cala is a short hop round the headland from Benidorm's Poniente beach and easy to reach on foot or by local bus from there. From anywhere else on the Costa Blanca a hire car is simpler — and it's the only sensible way up to Finestrat village itself, which is worth the climb for the view back down over the coast.
