Nudo Sur Festival (Las Negras)
A small, sustainable music festival on a clifftop esplanade above the sea in the seaside village of Las Negras, headlined by Chambao on their 20th-anniversary tour. The opening concert on 19 June (El Sombrero del Abuelo) is free; shuttle buses run from Almería.
Las Negras is the sort of low-slung fishing village where the road runs out and the Cabo de Gata cliffs take over, so a festival on the esplanade by the sports ground means you watch the stage with the Mediterranean and a few moored boats behind it. The organisers have kept things deliberately small, capping numbers to suit the spot rather than cramming in crowds, which is why the main day on 20 June is down to its last tickets. Chambao headline on their 20th-anniversary tour, their flamenco-chill drifting out over the water, joined by Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, Mr Kilombo and a closing DJ set from Dr Fli.
The free opening concert on 19 June is the gentler way in: El Sombrero del Abuelo play the night before, no ticket needed. Shuttle buses run from Almería and other Cabo de Gata towns, which spares you the cliff roads after dark.
