European Music Day Concert at Bil Bil Castle
A free choral concert by the Coral Ciudad de Benalmádena marking European Music Day, held at the photogenic seafront Bil Bil Castle. An easy, low-key evening of live music in a striking Moorish-style venue.
Bil Bil Castle is the little red-brick, keyhole-arched folly down by Benalmádena's seafront, and it makes a lovely backdrop for an evening like this. The town's own choir, the Coral Ciudad de Benalmádena, gathers here each June to mark European Music Day, kicking off around 8pm once the worst of the heat has eased.
Expect a relaxed hour or so of choral singing rather than a polished gala. It's the local choral society doing what they enjoy, and the setting does a lot of the work. Entry is free, so there's no harm in wandering over after dinner. Come a touch early if you fancy a decent spot, then let the voices carry out over the water as the light fades. A gentle, unfussy way to spend a summer evening on the coast.
