The tuba doesn't often get a weekend to itself, which is part of the charm here. Players from around Ibiza gather at the municipal music school in Santa Eulària for a couple of days of workshops, rehearsals and a good deal of low, rumbling brass filling the corridors. It's the third year they've run it, so there's a settled, club-like feel to the whole thing.
You don't need to know a euphonium from a sousaphone to enjoy the public concert that rounds it off, when all those players come together for a proper wall of sound.
