Wine Festival Lanzarote (Uga)

The wines here grow out of black volcanic gravel, each vine sunk into its own little crater with a low stone wall to break the wind. Uga's fairgrounds put a glass of that in your hand and let you wander between the island's bodegas, plates from local kitchens close behind. It doubles as the finish-line party for the Wine Run, so there's a happy, slightly knackered crowd of runners mixed in with everyone else.

Music runs all weekend across both days. Past line-ups have mixed Canarian folk groups like El Golpito and Parchita Colorá with cheerful covers acts and a Queen tribute come late afternoon. It usually lands in June; nothing's pinned down beyond that, so check before you build a day around it. Easy, sunny, unpretentious, and the wine genuinely tastes of where it's from.
