Festes de Sant Pere - Port de Pollença Maritime Fiesta
The patron-saint fiesta of Port de Pollença, honouring Sant Pere (St Peter), protector of fishermen, around his feast day of 29 June. Highlights include a procession of boats at sea, a parade with drums and bugles, open-air concerts, a marine fair and a popular sardinada (grilled-sardine feast) on the quayside.
Port de Pollença throws its party of the year for Sant Pere, patron saint of fishermen, building to his feast day on 29 June. Most of it happens down on the old quay, the Moll Vell, and most of it is free. There are open-air film nights on the seafront, a parade of Pollença's giants with the local pipers, folk dancing, and a market along the harbour over the weekend. On the Sunday a troop of buglers and drummers winds down from the square to the water.
The evening everyone turns out for is the sardinada popular, a communal grilled-sardine spread on the quay with live music alongside. Bring your own plate, glass and cutlery, then stay on for the Revetla, the late open-air concert that carries things into the small hours.
