Sóller Saturday Market
A picturesque weekly market spilling across the main square and side streets of this Tramuntana-valley town, with stalls of fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, pastries, flowers, crafts and Sóller's famous oranges and orange products. One of Mallorca's most charming Saturday-morning markets.
Saturday mornings, the streets around Plaça Constitució fill up from about nine until two. Stalls heave with valley-grown fruit and veg, slabs of cheese, cured sausage, warm pastries and buckets of cut flowers, while the local oranges turn up as juice, marmalade and just about everything else Sóller can think to do with them. Arrive early if you want elbow room and the pick of the produce.
Down at the Alameda there's a separate artisan market from March through November, where certified craftspeople sell genuine handmade pieces rather than the usual imported tat. It's a proper working market for the town as much as for visitors, so expect plenty of locals doing their weekly shop alongside you. Free to wander, and the Tramuntana mountains make a decent backdrop while you graze.
