San Juan Night Show (La Noche de San Juan)
The Canarian folk group I'Gara presents a music-and-tradition show celebrating St John's Night, one of the most magical dates in the local calendar. A free evening of traditional songs, dance and customs at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium.
Across the Canaries, midsummer means bonfires on the beach and people wading into the sea at midnight for luck. This is the indoor version of that night, and a gentler way in if the crowds and smoke aren't your thing. The folk group I'Gara take the stage at the Infanta Leonor with an evening of traditional Canarian song, dance and the old customs tied to St John's Night.
It leans on local memory rather than spectacle, so expect something heartfelt rather than slick. Entry is free, but seats are limited and not bookable, so turn up in good time. A good warm-up before you head down to the coast for the fires and the sea at midnight, if you fancy doing both.
