8th Inclusive Solidarity Fun Run
A short, inclusive 2.5 km charity run (three laps of the old town) starting at the Town Hall, with a festive finish featuring DJ Airam Acosta and percussion group Do Fogo. Proceeds buy a defibrillator for the local occupational centre. Note: advance registration closed 16 June, with race-day sign-up from 08:30-10:15.
This is a friendly little charity run rather than a serious race, and that is rather the point. You set off from outside the Town Hall and loop the old town three times, threading through Plaza de los Remedios, Plaza General Eulate, Calle Verde and Plaza de San Sebastián, with Do Fogo's percussion group drumming away to keep everyone moving. Airam Acosta keeps up a running commentary, and the Centro Ocupacional Isla Baja runs raffles for runners and watchers alike.
It is part of Buenavista Diversa, the town's inclusion programme, and every euro goes towards a defibrillator for the local occupational centre. Turn up on race day to sign on between 08:30 and 10:15, or simply line the route and clap people round. At 2.5 km, it suits all ages and abilities.
