What's on in Benijófar
Benijófar is a small town on the southern Costa Blanca, set inland on the Vega Baja plain near the Segura river, a few miles from the beaches at Guardamar. It's a quiet, low-rise place with a strong British and Northern-European resident community, an easygoing centre of plazas and pavement cafés and the salt lagoons of Torrevieja not far off. Life here runs at a gentle, unflashy pace.
Local life turns on the weekly street market, good for fresh produce and a browse, and the San Jaime patron saint fiestas in summer. Here's what's on while you're here.
