What's on in Daimús

Daimús is a small town on the Costa de Valencia just south of Gandia, made up of an inland village and a separate beach district of low apartments along a wide, gently shelving stretch of sand. It's a Spanish family-holiday sort of place, busy in summer with valencianos down from the city, surrounded by the orange groves of the Safor plain. The beach, with its summer chiringuitos, is the heart of the holiday here.

Food and the sea drive the calendar: the Daimús paella contest is a proper local cook-off, the Festes dels Pedregals liven up the beach district, and Sant Pere is the town's patron saint festival. Here's what's on while you're here.
