What's on in Lepe
Lepe is a busy farming town in Huelva's strawberry country, a little inland from the Costa de la Luz with its own quiet beaches at La Antilla and Islantilla on the coast below. It's a genuinely Andalusian working town rather than a resort — the butt of friendly Spanish jokes, but in truth a prosperous place built on the fields that supply half of Europe's early strawberries.
The town's cultural calendar leans on its music: the Lepe Flamenco Festival, now in its sixth edition, brings serious cante to the stage, while the open-air film-music concert "From Symphony to Cinema" makes for a gentler summer evening. Here's what's on while you're here.
