VI Lepe Flamenco Festival (MEC)
Five evenings of live flamenco spread across Lepe's streets, the El Terron grounds and La Antilla beach, with most performances free. The festival is capped by a ticketed concert from acclaimed cantaor Arcangel, alongside dancer Maria Moreno and other leading artists.
The clever idea here is "MEC" — market, shopfronts and street — so flamenco spills out of the theatre and into Lepe itself. Over five July evenings you'll catch singers, guitarists and dancers turning up in town squares, out at the El Terrón romería grounds, and down on the sand at La Antilla. Juan Tomás de la Molía opens proceedings, María Moreno brings the dance, and guitarist Alejandro Rodríguez plays alongside the Rey duo earlier in the week.
Most of it costs nothing, which is the real draw — you can wander in, stand close, and watch proper artists at work. The exception is the final night, when Huelva-born cantaor Arcángel headlines a ticketed closing concert. Bring something to sit on for the beach sets, and let the evening run late.
