What's on in Los Realejos

Los Realejos spreads across the green hillsides of northern Tenerife above Puerto de la Cruz, running from the high pine forests down towards the rocky coast. It's a town of scattered hamlets and terraced farmland in the lush Orotava valley, far from the southern resorts, and it claims more fiestas per year than almost anywhere in Spain — fireworks are something of a local obsession here.

The biggest of those is the Fiestas del Carmen, the festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Alongside the fiestas there's a strong run of music: a Pedro Guerra acoustic show, the Northern Tenerife Flute Orchestra, and a concert from Anna Rodríguez and Eliseo Lloreda.
