What's on in Pego

Pego is an inland market town in the far north of the Costa Blanca, set on a fertile plain between the mountains and the sea near Dénia. It's surrounded by the Marjal de Pego-Oliva wetlands, where a prized local bomba rice is grown, and the town itself is workaday and thoroughly Valencian, with a small old quarter and weekly markets rather than tourist trappings.

Its main fiesta comes with the Patron Saint Festivals in honour of the Santíssim Ecce Homo, when the town turns out for processions, music and fireworks. Here's what's on while you're here.
