What's on in Platja de Migjorn area

Platja de Migjorn is Formentera's long southern beach, a five-kilometre run of pale sand and clear shallows backed by low dunes and a scattering of beach bars. Above it rises La Mola, the island's quieter eastern plateau, with its lighthouse, windmills and the small village around the church square. This is the slow, barefoot end of the Balearics.

The events keep that mellow spirit. The Formentera Jazz Festival brings open-air music to the island, the Nits de Mola put on live evenings in La Mola's church square, and the famous La Mola craft market — a survivor of the island's hippy days — sets out its stalls. Here's what's on while you're here.
