What's on in Roses

Roses sits on a wide, sheltered bay near the top of the Costa Brava, where the long sandy beach gives way to the wild Cap de Creus headland to the south. It's both a working fishing port — its prawns and anchovies are prized, and the area's reputation for food owes much to the late, legendary elBulli restaurant nearby — and a busy summer resort, with a Greek-and-Roman archaeological site and a star-shaped citadel from its long history.

Summer brings a steady programme: open-air sardana dancing at the Sardanes a la Fresca, the Sant Joan midsummer eve celebration, coastal wellness sessions in the Cicle Dedins, and Nina Pastori headlining the Sons del Món festival. Here's what's on while you're here.
