What's on in Tijarafe
Tijarafe is a small farming municipality on the steep north-west of La Palma, scattered across ridges and ravines high above the Atlantic, with almond groves, vineyards and walking trails dropping down towards the sea. It's properly rural and quiet, the sort of place known among Palmeros for clear dark skies and one wild summer fiesta. Most days, though, it's just goat bells, terraced fields and long views.
The cultural calendar leans local and homemade: a year-end showcase of Canarian folk dance and timple, the open-air contemporary dance of DANZANTES, and the craft-focused TICCAD gathering. Here's what's on while you're here.
