What's on in Vejer de la Frontera

Vejer de la Frontera is one of the great white hill towns of Cádiz, a tangle of steep lanes, arches and little squares spilling down a ridge a few miles back from the Costa de la Luz beaches. Its Moorish street plan survives almost intact, and from the old walls you look out over the cork-oak countryside towards the Atlantic. It's a town that has kept its character, known for retinto beef, raw-tuna dishes and a genuinely good food scene.

Culture leans serious and traditional here, with the National Amateur Flamenco Singing Competition drawing real cante to the town, alongside exhibitions such as the Picasso on Paper anthology. Here's what's on while you're here.
