What's on in Vinaròs

Vinaròs is a working fishing port at the northern tip of the Costa del Azahar, right on the border with Catalonia. It's best known across Spain for its langostino — the local prawn — landed by the trawler fleet and sold straight off the boats at the afternoon fish auction. Beyond the harbour it's an unfussy town of seafront promenade, small coves and a big domed church, far quieter than the resorts further south.

The town throws itself into the San Juan and San Pedro Fair and Festival around midsummer, and devotes the Langostino Cuisine Gastronomy Days to its famous prawn. Here's what's on while you're here.
