San Juan and San Pedro Fair and Festival
Vinaròs's biggest annual fiesta, an 11-day patron-saint celebration around the feast days of St John and St Peter, with concerts, parades, street parties and fireworks across the town. A lively, atmospheric way to experience the resort at its summer peak.
For eleven days from 19 June, Vinaròs hands its streets over to its patron saints and barely sleeps. Things open with the proclamation of the festival queens and the imposition of sashes, then settle into a rhythm of brass bands from La Alianza, processions and the towering giants and big-heads weaving through the crowds. The night of San Juan is the one to plan around: a correfoc winds from the centre down to the Fortí beach with the devils of the Ball de Dimonis, and the late verbena runs on past midnight with coca and cava.
There's a trainee bullfight in the bullring too, and a paella contest, if you fancy a sit-down moment. It closes on San Pedro's day, 29 June, with a solemn Mass for the saint and a fireworks display over Fortí beach. Most of the street events are free.
