Feslalí 2026 - 10th Edition (Carob Festival)
A month-long rural festival celebrating the Vall de Pop landscape, agriculture and identity, with this 10th edition themed around the carob (algarroba) as a crop of the future. Visitors can join guided hikes among carob trees, craft and local-produce fairs, a carob-dessert competition, a quick-painting contest, workshops, tastings and live music.
Alcalalí is a small inland village in the Vall de Pop, and for most of February it turns its squares over to the humble carob bean. The almond crops here took a hammering from disease, so the locals have rallied around the algarroba instead, and this tenth edition is a proper celebration of that shift. You can walk guided routes out among the carob trees, browse a fair of local crafts and produce, and watch artists race the clock in a quick-painting contest.
The carob dessert competition is the one to time your visit around, with tastings to go alongside it. There are ceramic and soap-making workshops, talks on sustainable farming, and live music spilling across the squares. It is gentle, unhurried and genuinely rural. Worth a detour if you fancy a day inland away from the coast.
