San Lorenzo Patron Saint Festival
Busot's main patron-saint fiesta in honour of San Lorenzo, with a week of religious processions, open-air concerts, the traditional 'dança', summer cinema, sports tournaments and a foam party. A lively window into village life in the height of summer.
Busot turns out for San Lorenzo each summer, usually around 10 August, the old date that once marked the start of the almond harvest. It runs for the best part of a week, and you'll feel the whole village shift into fiesta mode. There's a mass, a flower offering and a procession through the streets for the patron saint, alongside the cabezudos parade with its outsized carnival heads and the Dança de Busot, the local traditional dance.
The rest leans cheerful and loud. The Unió Musical de Busot plays, there are open-air film nights, futsal tournaments, inflatables for the kids and live orchestras after dark. Somewhere in the mix is a foam party, which tells you the tone fairly well. Most of it is free, and it's an easy, unpolished look at village life at the height of summer.
