Estival al Castell Summer Concerts
Three evenings of open-air live music staged inside Guardamar's historic hilltop castle: Spanish Brass with their Top Secret show (5 Aug, EUR 15), flamenco singer Kiki Morente (6 Aug, EUR 25) and pop artist Alice Wonder (7 Aug, EUR 25). A scenic 10pm start with the sea breeze and castle walls as the backdrop.
Climbing up to Guardamar's old castle on a warm August night, then settling in with the stone walls around you and the sea somewhere off in the dark, is a fine way to hear live music. The series runs three evenings, each starting at 10pm once the day's heat has eased. Spanish Brass open on 5 August with Top Secret, their playful, theatrical brass show that's good fun even if you've never heard them (EUR 15). The flamenco singer Kiki Morente brings real weight to the 6th (EUR 25), and pop artist Alice Wonder closes things on the 7th (EUR 25).
Capacity is bumped up for these nights, so it's roomier than the castle usually feels. Bring a layer; the breeze picks up late.
