Summer Routes & Experiences 2026
Orihuela's summer program of guided routes, heritage visits and nature experiences runs all summer, including evening 'Wild Nights of the Palmeral', a family astronomy session at MUDIC, otter-spotting along the Segura River and an after-dark visit to the Sacred Art Museum. Places are limited and advance booking is required at orihuelaturistica.es.
Orihuela's tourism office runs a steady drip of small guided outings right through the summer, and the line-up is more interesting than your average heritage trail. The pick of it happens after dark. On the 'Wild Nights of the Palmeral' you walk the palm grove once the heat has dropped, and there's an after-hours visit to the Sacred Art Museum when the crowds have gone home. Families can book the astronomy session at MUDIC, the local science museum, and there's otter-spotting along the Segura at Desamparados, which is exactly the sort of thing you'd never think to do otherwise.
Groups are kept small, so you'll need to reserve ahead at orihuelaturistica.es rather than just turning up. New dates land across June, July and August, so it's worth a look whenever you're in town.
