Rumb(A)Palamós — Free Open-Air Rumba Concerts
Five free open-air concerts — one every Friday in July — in the 13th edition of Palamós's rumba festival.
Every Friday in July, Palamós hands its squares over to Catalan rumba. The concerts run on two settings — Plaça de Catalunya and the seafront stage on the Passeig del Mar — and they all kick off late, at 10pm, once the heat has eased and the evening crowd has drifted down to the front. It's free, it's outdoors, and you can wander in with an ice cream and stay as long as you like.
The line-up leans local and lively. Ketekalles, an all-female group up for an Enderrock award, plays the seafront on 17 July, while the 24th lands on International Rumba Day with Los Vecinos de Manué. Nice touch: the whole thing runs on solar power. Bring something to sit on, and don't expect to leave without dancing.
