33rd Tortosa Jazz Festival
Tortosa's long-running jazz festival, now in its 33rd edition, fills the city's streets and venues with live jazz over more than two weeks. A mix of free open-air sets and ticketed concerts makes it easy for visitors to drop in and listen.
For a couple of weeks each summer, Tortosa hands its squares over to jazz. The headline concerts gather at Plaça de l'Absis, in the shadow of the cathedral, and the line-up punches well above the town's size: in 2026 that means Sting's longtime guitarist Dominic Miller, Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodríguez, and saxophonist Kenny Garrett. Those are ticketed, from around 12 to 22 euros, with a festival pass if you fancy several nights.
The local big band and choir open proceedings, and there's plenty going on in the streets for nothing at all, so you can wander in, catch a set and carry on. It's an easygoing way to spend a warm evening, and Tortosa itself is worth the detour off the coast.
