El Ejido al Natural: Open-Air Music Festival (Almerimar)
A summer open-air concert by the sea at the Almerimar rugby field, with a lineup of buzzy Spanish indie-pop acts: Siloe, La La Love You, Nina Polaca, Hoonine and Los Reptiles. Doors open at 20:00 for an evening of live music with a Mediterranean backdrop.
The rugby pitch at Almerimar might sound an odd spot for a gig, but that is rather the point. It is flat, open and a short stroll from the marina, so the warm sea air does half the work before a note is played. Gates swing open at 20:00 and the music carries on until just shy of midnight.
The bill leans into Spain's current indie-pop crowd: Siloe, La La Love You, Nina Polaca, Hoonine and Los Reptiles, the sort of acts whose choruses the locals already know by heart. Expect plenty of singing along and a friendly, all-ages crowd rather than a po-faced festival. You won't follow every lyric, but you won't need to. Tickets go through Crash Music, so sort those before you turn up.
