Sant Pere Festival - Vilanova's Maritime Fiesta

This is Vilanova's old fishing quarter celebrating its patron saint, and it leans hard into the sea. The week is run partly by the fishermen's confraternity, so it feels like a working waterfront throwing a party rather than a show put on for tourists. Sardanes circle up on the quayside, swimmers strike out across the town beach in an open-water crossing, and there's a maritime showcase down by the harbour.

Come evening it shifts gear. The correfoc sends sparks and drummers tearing through the streets, with locals dressed as devils, so wear cotton you don't mind scorching and stand well back if you'd rather watch. Concerts round things off. Most of it happens out in the open and costs nothing, usually around Sant Pere's day in late June.
