Basket Summer Cup (youth & amateur basketball tournament)
A large summer basketball tournament with around 140 teams and over 1,600 players from across Spain competing on 15 courts in more than 200 matches. Free to watch and fun for families, though the 2026 edition has just passed; the next edition is expected in mid-June 2027.
For one weekend each June, Gandia hands its sports halls over to basketball and the squeak of trainers takes over. Around 140 teams roll in from across Spain, from young kids' sides up to amateur seniors, with the games spread across 15 courts in the main pavilion, the municipal sports centre and the Raval hall. Spillover matches even land in nearby Oliva and Real de Gandia, so the whole town fills up with players, coaches and travelling families.
It's free to watch, and worth a wander through if you're nearby. More than 200 games run back to back over the weekend, women's and men's divisions both well represented, and the mood is more grassroots get-together than serious silverware. The 2026 edition has just wrapped; the next one is expected back in mid-June 2027.
