Med Beach Volley Tournament
A weekend of beach volleyball on Peñíscola's North Beach, with roughly 270 matches across 2x2 and 4x4 competitions in men's, women's and mixed categories. Free to watch with a lively beachside atmosphere all day.
For one weekend, Playa Norte turns into a sprawl of nets and roped-off courts, with players arriving from all over Spain to dig, set and spike across the sand. Saturday runs the 2x2 pairs, Sunday switches to 4x4 teams, and between them they pack in something like 270 matches. Play splits into a morning and an evening session, so the worst of the midday heat is given a wide berth.
You don't pay a penny to watch, and there's no need to commit to a whole day. Wander down, find a patch of sand near whichever court has the loudest rally going, and stay as long as it holds your attention. The gold, silver and bronze tiers mean you'll catch genuinely good play alongside teams who are clearly just there for the laugh, which is half the fun of it.
