Thursdays in Arinaga: Open-Air Beach Concerts & Tapas Nights
A free summer-long run of open-air evening concerts on Arinaga's seafront promenade, paired with food-and-tapas (pinchos) stalls. Live bands play cumbia, swing, Latin and pop covers right by the beach, week after week from mid-June to mid-September, so you can just turn up and enjoy.
Every Thursday through summer, the Avenida Polizón along Arinaga's seafront fills up after dark for what locals call Jueves en Arinaga. A band sets up near the beach and works through cumbia, rumba, bachata, swing and pop covers while people drift along the promenade with a drink in hand. Music usually kicks off around 9pm, once the heat has dropped.
It runs alongside the Noche de Pinchos, so stalls and bars put out small plates you pay for as you go. There's no ticket and no fuss; you wander down, grab a few pinchos, and stay as long as the band holds your attention. It's a low-key, easygoing evening rather than a big festival, which is rather the point. Worth pencilling in if you're nearby on a Thursday between mid-June and mid-September.
