What's on in Agüimes
Agüimes is one of Gran Canaria's best-kept old towns, a tidy historic centre of sandstone streets and a big domed church set inland in the dry south-east, with the fishing-and-beach district of Arinaga down on the coast below. It feels lived-in and Canarian rather than touristy, and makes a good base for the nearby Guayadeque ravine.
