Friday mornings are when the streets around Plaça de Cervantes fill with trestle tables and awnings, and the whole thing spills out towards the seafront. It's a proper resort market rather than a sleepy village affair, so expect plenty aimed squarely at holidaymakers: leather belts and bags, summer dresses, beach towels, ceramics and the usual run of souvenirs. But there are good local stalls too, with Mallorcan fruit and veg, olives, cheeses and bread if you're catering for yourself.
Go early before the heat builds and the crowds thicken. Stallholders are used to British and German visitors, so haggling and pointing get you a long way. In high summer extra market days are added, so it's worth checking locally if Friday doesn't suit. Easy to fold into a morning on the bay.
