What's on in Santa Margalida

Santa Margalida is an old inland town in the north-east of Mallorca, set on a low hill among the farmland of the Pla, with the busy beach resort of Can Picafort lying on the coast within the same municipality. The two make a real contrast: a quiet, traditional Mallorcan town up in the fields, and a sandy family resort down on the Bay of Alcúdia.

The town's standout event is the Festes de la Beata in honour of the Blessed Catalina Thomàs, one of the island's most distinctive fiestas, with its carts and figures. The calendar also takes in the Sa Fira spring fair and weekly and evening markets at Can Picafort and Son Serra de Marina. Here's what's on while you're here.
