This one runs all day on Arafo's stretch of coast, and it's the kind of low-key affair where you turn up, wander between activities and let the day unfold. Expect guided walks along the shore poking about in rock pools, talks on pollinators and seabirds, and a few hands-on workshops, anything from body-painting and photography to making your own deodorant from scratch. There's silbo gomero, the old Canarian whistling language, demonstrated by people who actually use it. The food is local and grown nearby, which suits the whole spirit of the thing.
The moment most people come for is the sea-turtle release, handled by a local wildlife centre, when a rehabilitated turtle goes back to the water. It's entirely free, and the evening winds down with poetry and an open-air concert. Held each spring, usually around April.
