Open-Air Jazz Summer Series at Teatro El Sauzal
An intimate open-air jazz series on four Thursday evenings, with live quartets and ensembles playing 70-minute sets in and around the Teatro El Sauzal. The 8-euro ticket includes a glass of wine and welcome tapas, making it an easy summer-evening outing.
Four Thursday evenings across July and August, each one a single 70-minute set that spills out of the El Sauzal theatre and into the open air. The line-up changes every week, from the Christian Cabrera quartet to a Tenerife Jazz Camp reunion of island players, so the mood shifts from contemporary jazz to lighter world-music leanings depending on who's on.
Your eight euros gets you a glass of wine and a few welcome tapas, which sets the tone nicely: this is closer to a relaxed evening among friends than a hushed concert hall. Sets start at 8pm, the light's still soft, and you can settle in with a drink while the music carries across the courtyard. It's small, unfussy and easy to fit around a lazy summer day on the coast.
